Quebecers can expect another day of windy, chilly conditions on Tuesday, with instability continuing to affect the province. According to Environment Canada, the gusty winds and dropping temperatures will create a particularly harsh winter day.
In Montreal, wind speeds will reach 50 km/h, causing temperatures to feel even colder. The mercury is expected to hover around -12°C in the city, but the wind chill will make it feel even more frigid.
Periods of snow overnight, about 2 cm expected.
In the central part of the province, including Sherbrooke and Quebec City, temperatures will dip to -13°C, accompanied by snow and blowing snow. Visibility may be reduced in these regions, so caution is advised when traveling.
The Saguenay region will experience a mix of sun and clouds, with temperatures around -15°C. However, strong winds of up to 70 km/h will make it feel much colder, and residents should prepare for a biting wind chill.
Looking ahead to Wednesday, snow is expected to return to southern Quebec, including the Outaouais and Montreal regions, with up to 5 cm of accumulation. The Eastern Townships could see double that amount, with up to 10 cm of snow.
Environment Canada advises residents to dress warmly and be prepared for rapidly changing weather conditions, particularly in areas affected by strong winds and blowing snow.
More snow on the way for Thursday and cloudy come Friday, with sunshine back on Saturday.
