Complete closure of Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel overnight Friday

The Transport Ministry has announced that a complete closure of both directions of Highway 25, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel, will be in place during the night of April 11 to 12.

The ramp leading from Highway 40 westbound to Highway 25 southbound will also be closed.

“These closures are required for inspection and maintenance work,” they said in a news release on Monday.

Highway 25 toward the South Shore

Friday night to Saturday, from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Complete closure of Highway 25 toward the South Shore, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel, between Exit 5 – R-138/ Hochelaga Street/ Sherbrooke Street and the entrance from Île Charron.

“The entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the highway’s complete closure,” the Ministry said.

Souligny Avenue eastbound, between Dickson and Honoré-Beaugrand streets, will be closed 30 minutes before the highway’s complete closure.

Anjou Interchange

Highway 25 toward Montreal

Complete closure of Highway 25 toward Montreal, including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine Tunnel, between Exit 90 – Highway 20 West, Route 132, La Prairie/ USA, Varennes, P.E. Trudeau Airport and the entrance from Hochelaga Street.

The entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway.

Also note that Exit 90 – Highway 20 West, Route 132, La Prairie USA, Varennes, P.E. Trudeau Airport on Highway 20 westbound will be closed Saturday night to Sunday, from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m.

“In the event of adverse weather conditions or operational constraints,” they explained. “These interventions may be postponed.”
