Montreal under severe thunderstorm watch

Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) issuing a severe thunderstorm watch for the island of Montreal on Thursday.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain,” wrote ECCC. “Nautical activities may be hazardous due to sudden, severe wind gusts on bodies of water. Strong gusts can damage trees or buildings. Hail can cause damages.”
They warn that when, “thunder roars, go indoors! Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.”
By 4 p.m. it felt like 28°C with the humidity in Montreal. Temperatures are expected to dip down to 15°C tonight.
Sunshine for Friday and Saturday, with highs of 26°C and 30°C.
Showers moving back into the region on Sunday – but muggy – with a high of 32°C.
The rain is set to stick around for Monday and Tuesday.
