Montreal women recently came together at a downtown Montreal venue for an intimate evening designed to nourish your body, empower your beauty, and secure your financial future.
Surrounded by music, inspiration, empowerment, and sisterhood. Three transformational workshops featuring Florence Sydney on nutrition, Lin Sok on building wealth after 40, and Blankita Styles on Beauty That Begins from Within.

Blankita Styles is a hair and makeup artist and performer. She shared, “We’re saying the 30s is our new 20s or 40s is your new 30s, like totally identity crisis here.”
Sydney conducted her workshop while preparing a quinoa salad for attendees. She explained, “As your estrogen levels decrease during a period or menopause, your muscle mass just naturally decreases; your muscle mass and your bone density. So it’s really important to have protein at every meal, and it’s really important also to have weight-bearing exercises.”
Sydney, a dietician, author, and television host, continued, “A lot of people, a lot of women obviously asked me how do I eat now that I’m in my 40s, things that I used to do in the past don’t work, I’m gaining weight, I don’t know why, haven’t changed my diet. So (the idea for the workshop) actually came from requests from women in my entourage who are 40 years and older.”
Lin Sok is a financial advisor, tech founder, and community builder.
She says, “If anyone has a group RRSPs or a pension plan, it’s important to include that in your retirement plan, and very important if you leave a job that has a pension plan or a group RRSP, please transfer it over to somewhere that you actually look.”
Sok continued, “That women over 40 go through a pivotal moment in their life where they question everything. Is this the career that I want to work at for the rest of my life? What about retirements? What happens when my kids get older, move out of the house? Sometimes women are going through divorce, and so one of the reasons why we decided to come together is in each of our areas of expertise, we realized that there’s something that happens when women turn 40 and we thought it was important to share our knowledge and our wisdom to these women, and it was a good thing that we did.”

Styles shared, “You don’t need to be a millionaire to be able to achieve all of the success that it really truly starts from within, and I think that if people can realize and accept the power that they have within themselves, that we are all limitless beings.”
Sok shared, “Women are strong when we support each other. We learn from each other. We’re all going through the same things, no matter our background, what we do for a living, what our personal situation is. I would encourage anybody who either has life experiences to share, not sure what they want to do with their lives, to come out to one of our events because you can learn so much not just from us, but from each other.”
As for what advice she would give to women wanting to make changes to their lives? Sydney said, “Do it. What’s the worst thing that could happen? Fail? Okay?”
