Montreal police investigating suspected arson at downtown restaurant

Montreal Police (SPVM) are investigating a suspected arson at a restaurant downtown.

SPVM say they received a 911 at 1:55 a.m. call about a fire starting at the Yoko Luna restaurant on de la Montagne St. near Sainte-Catherine W. St.

When police arrived on scene, a minor fire was underway. The Montreal Fire Department (SIM) quickly brought the fire under control.

“According to the initial information, incendiary material was found near the fire and suspects fled before police arrived, possibly in a vehicle,” according to Florence Stafford, spokesperson for the SPVM.
