REM service disruptions expected over next few days and later in December-January

Montrealers can expect headaches while commuting through parts of the city and other areas, as several planned service outages will affect the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) over the next few days and over the next month.

Between 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 8, and 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, there will be no service between Côte-de-Liesse and Deux-Montagnes stations. This will also take place during the same time frame, Tuesday into Wednesday, Dec. 10, and again from Wednesday into Thursday, Dec. 11.

The REM will have no service accross the entire line starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12, before resuming normal operations at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday until 9 p.m., when there will be no service again until 9 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14.

For the weekend closure, the last REM train will depart from Brossard at 8:10 p.m. for Deux-Montagnes, while the last train will leave Deux-Montagnes at 8:08 p.m. for Brossard. This will also be in place from 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9 until 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10.

Lastly, from 2 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 26 until 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, there will also be no service.

“The schedule changes and announced closures are related to testing in preparation for the opening of the Anse-à-l’Orme branch,” said a spokesperson for Pulsar Opérations et maintenance, which operates the REM.

During all the closures, shuttle buses will be in place for transit users.
