City of Montreal told CityNews in a statement:

“Given the current weather conditions, our field operations are adjusted in real time according to the evolution of the situation. The priority is to ensure that sidewalks and roadways are safe, to maintain these passable spaces. The teams are currently carrying out spreading operations with abrasive and salt throughout the network to ensure safe travel. These maintenance operations continue until the rainfall is over and may continue after the rainfall has ended. Snow loading operations may continue in the coming hours, depending on the evolution of the situation. Given the current conditions, we recommend that people be extra careful, limit their travel and show solidarity by helping people with reduced mobility.”

The City of Montreal is reminding residents to respect posted signage and parking restrictions to allow crews to complete snow removal safely and efficiently. Residents can track operations in real time using the city’s 311 Montreal mobile app.
