Closure of Route 136 in Montreal this weekend

Montrealers can expect traffic disruptions as a section of Route 136 will be closed in both directions during this weekend. This closure is necessary in order to proceed with the installation of the steel structure of the western part of the Saint-Urbain Street overpass as part of its rehabilitation.

Obstructions and traffic management

Route 136 (Ville-Marie and Viger tunnels)

Closure of the Viger Tunnel during the weekend of June 5 (CNW Group/Ministère des Transports et de la Mobilité durable)
  • Complete closure of Route 136 westbound, between Panet Street and the entrance from Lucien-L’Allier Street, from Friday, 11 p.m., to Monday, 5 a.m.
    • Traffic will be rerouted on Viger Avenue and Saint-Antoine Street West.
  • Complete closure of Highway 136 eastbound, between Exit No 4 (Victoria Bridge, Robert-Bourassa Blvd., de la Montagne Street) and the entrance from Atateken Street, fromFriday, 11:30 p.m., to Monday, 5 a.m.
    • Traffic will be diverted to Saint-Antoine Street.
  • The on-ramps will be closed 30 to 60 minutes before the complete closure of Highway 136. The detour routes will be marked with temporary signage. Police officers will be on site to facilitate traffic.
