Mile End
The Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween Ball
5723 Ave du Parc, Montreal, QC H2V 4H2
DATE & TIME:
Oct. 29, 30 & 31 at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Once the projector starts rolling, part of the The Rocky Horror Picture Show Halloween Ball experience is whipping out props that pair up with famous scenes of the 1975 film.
“After hundreds of hours of preparation, I finally get to see people have a fun time at the Halloween Ball, three nights in a row,” said Phil Spurrell, producer of the event. “I love the creativity in the fans’ costumes whether dressed as a Rocky Horror Picture Show character or not.”
The event has been going on in Montreal for 28 years now and combines the projected film, a shadow cast and has the venue transformed into an unique interactive-movie-party-phenomenon.
“With the Rialto’s very impressive 1920s movie theatre architecture, there’s not much needed to add to the decor,” said Spurrell. “In this high tech age of disconnection, we all need to gather more for in-person events. (Especially ones where you get to toss toilet paper rolls in the cinema!)”
Tickets can be purchased here, and Spurrell explained that the event is being dedicated to actor Tim Curry, Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the film, who recently passed away.
“Being a General Admission event,” Spurrell added. “It’s best to arrive early for a good seat!”

“Halloween has a magical way of bringing people together, no matter their age,” they added. “Come for the fun, stay for the scares, and help us make this milestone year our spookiest one yet!”

Terrebonne
Victoria’s Haunted House
200 Rue de la Buse, Terrebonne, QC J6V 0C3
“Halloween is much more than costumes and decorations for our family,” said Peter Capuano, father of three and creator of this haunted house. “Every year, we transform our home into a Halloween experience that brings our neighborhood together.”
Capuano’s family spends countless hours creating their displays, lighting effects, and spooky scenes for other families to enjoy, and it’s all for a good cause: to raise money for the Montreal Children’s Hospital.
“My daughter, who is a Youth Ambassador for the hospital, was diagnosed with Stickler syndrome and spent many of her early years receiving exceptional care there,” he explained. “The doctors, nurses, and staff supported our family through some very challenging times, and we will always be grateful for everything they did for her.”

For eight years now, the family has made this a tradition in Terrebonne.
“I love Halloween because it brings the neighbourhood together,” said Capuano. “It’s one of the few times of the year when people are outside, meeting their neighbours, and sharing a fun experience.”
“Seeing the kids in their costumes, the decorated houses, and everyone enjoying the evening creates a great sense of community,” he added. “Makes the neighbourhood feel more connected.”

324 Rue de Martigny Varennes, QC J3X 1E8

“My love for Halloween started as a kid,” said Pat Petraccione, who has been creating an eerie-sistable haunted house for over 30 years now. “I loved scaring people, and most of all see the kids happy trick-or-treating.”
After moving home last year, Petraccione brought his spooky displays with him — Halloween 2026 is set to mark his second setup in his new neighbourhood.
“I’ve been doing a Halloween haunted house for about 32 years,” he told CityNews. “The first 30 was at my old house in Montreal, and last year and this year my new home.”
From frightening decorations to the overall eye-catching display, Petraccione said creating his “house of the living dead” is his favourite time of the year.
“My Halloween yard haunt lights are up and ready,” he explained. “Come if you dare, for all ages.”

Promenades St-Bruno
1 Bd des Promenades, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC J3V 5K4

Set to immerse families in the world of Halloween, Promenades St-Bruno invites visitors for two days of free activities.
“The festivities will include magic shows, roaming characters, witches, face painting, creative workshops and cotton candy galore,” they said in a press release. “Two days, a host of activities and just the right amount of fright.”
The team explained that Oct. 30 is expected to have “a spooky atmosphere that even teens will love!” Starting at 4 p.m., the Promenades St-Bruno will be transformed into a Halloween wonderland.
“Pumpkin-decorating workshops and airbrush face painting will be offered throughout the evening,” they said. “While a fascinating cast of characters comes to life throughout the mall.”
Here, characters Igor & Olga, Pseudarion, the Baron and his Voodoo Doll, and Nécromentès will roam the centre. They will be meeting visitors at various times throughout the evening. Then the Wizard Magician will take the stage at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
“Between magic, unexpected encounters and intriguing creatures,” they added. “The atmosphere promises just enough mystery to give visitors a few chills while keeping the evening fun for everyone!”

As for Halloween, an enchanting day is being organized for Promenades St-Bruno’s younger visitors.
“The fun continues on Saturday starting at 10 a.m., with pumpkin decorating and airbrush face painting available until 3 p.m.,” they explained. “Throughout the day, three witches will take turns roaming the centre, while stories come to life on stage with witch storytelling sessions at 10 a.m., 11:15 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.”
Also, have no fear! If visitors missed the magic on Friday, the team said that the Wizard Magician will make a return on Saturday with two shows, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Inspired by a beloved tradition of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) in Mexico, a sugar skull workshop is also taking place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“A host of activities,” said the Promenades St-Bruno team. “Combining fun, surprises and just the right amount of spooky thrills for visitors of all ages.”
