Montreal Carabins sign city’s ‘Golden Book’ after Vanier Cup Win

By News Staff

More championship-winning football players took part in a symbolic honour at Montreal’s city hall Wednesday.

One week after the Grey Cup champion Alouettes signed the City of Montreal’s “Golden Book,” it was the top college football team’s turn.

Players and coaches with the Vanier Cup-winning Université de Montreal Carabins signed the book and posed for pictures with Mayor Valérie Plante.

The Carabins earned their second Vanier Cup title in school history with a 16-9 victory over the UBC Thunderbirds in Saturday’s championship game.

It came six days after the Als triumphed 28-24 over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Grey Cup.
