Delay in delivery of Quebec’s COVID-19 vaccine doses, AQPP says

By The Canadian Press

Some pharmacies across Quebec are still waiting for the arrival of COVID-19 vaccine doses, explains the Quebec Association of Pharmacists (AQPP). It says that this delay could lead to the postponement of some already scheduled appointments and emphasizes that this situation is beyond the control of pharmacies.

The AQPP announced this delay in a press release on Tuesday, less than 24 hours before the launch of the official influenza and COVID-19 vaccination campaign.

“This setback is temporary and should resolve as soon as possible,” the AQPP press release reads. “We are confident that the situation can be resolved in time for everyone who wishes to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in a pharmacy to do so and be ready for the next wave of COVID-19.”

The AQPP calls on the public to show understanding and cooperation to facilitate the management of this situation.

“It is important to emphasize that this distribution issue is not the responsibility of pharmacy teams, who remain fully committed to providing quality care and ensuring the health of the population,” adds the AQPP.
