Quebecer stuns Canadians, judges on Canada’s Got Talent

“I thought I was making noise,” says Paola Troilo, a Quebecer who stunned audiences with her voice during her Canada’s Got Talent audition earlier this week. Felisha Adam reports.

Quebecer Paola Troilo stunned Canadians with her voice, showing off her vocal range on Canada’s Got Talent stage.

She’s an opera singer from Laval and says she hopes everyone can see that no dream is too old and nothing is impossible.

Troilo has always sung but says she always thought she was making noise, that her voice was disturbing to others.

“Maybe I was shy. I don’t know,” she said.

It was until someone recognized her talent that she realized what she had. Last year she started to sing for private events and fundraisers. She was also invited to sing in Rome for the European Parliament.

Her sons Christian and Anthony, admire her passion and decided to sign her up for the show, and the rest is history.

“We went to the restaurant in Quebec and they say, ‘mommy, we have big news for you.’ Oh, I’m going to be a grandma,” she said jokingly. “And they confirm ‘mommy you have been chosen to make this show and Canada’s Got Talent.'”

Once on the stage, Troilo stunned everyone in the audience.

“When I sing, it’s like I’m walking onto the clouds. I’m above the sky. And I think people feel this and receive this love that I have when I’m sharing and I want this to continue and make people happy.”

She’s looking to secure a spot in the finals. And while she is confident in succeeding, she wants her story to be an inspiration for all women.

“I want to take not only my voice to sing, but my voice to tell all the women in the world,” said Troilo. “I want to tell all the women, never give up, never take… Keep your dreams, get your goals, and write it down. Because it’s never too late to make your dream come true.”
