Second time in two days a pedestrian is hit by a vehicle in Montreal’s east end

MONTREAL – For the second time in two days, a pedestrian was struck by a car in Montreal’s east end, this time it happened on Thursday night on De Lorimier Avenue, near the Jacques-Cartier Bridge.

The victim is in critical condition in hospital.

According to the Montreal police force (SPVM), shortly before 10:00 p.m., the 50-year-old pedestrian stepped into the traffic lane on De Lorimier, near the intersection of de Maisonneuve east Blvd. He was struck by a southbound car driven by a young woman.

Investigators were on hand to analyze the circumstances of the collision.

Less than 24 hours earlier, a 29-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured when struck by a car on Hochelaga Street near the intersection of Aird Avenue in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district. He remains in critical condition in hospital as of Friday morning.
