A 61-year-old gas station employee is in hospital after being stabbed early Wednesday morning in Saint-Laurent.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call around 4 a.m. about the assault at an Ultramar on Marcel-Laurin Blvd., near Côte-Vertu.

When they arrived on the scene, officers located the victim with upper body injuries.

“A man entered the store and made his way to the other side of the counter and stabbed the clerk several times,” said SPVM spokesperson Sabrina Gauthier.
