Suspects flee after 5 vehicles set on fire in Montreal’s Saint-Laurent

Montreal police are investigating after five vehicles were set on fire early Wednesday morning in the city’s Saint-Laurent borough.

Authorities say several 911 calls were received around 4 a.m. reporting vehicle fires on Gold, Brunet, and Noël streets.

One car was found on Gold Street, two vehicles on Noël street, and two others on Brunet street.

When officers arrived at the scene, the Montreal Fire Department was already working to contain the blazes.

The fires involved two cars and three SUVs, all of which were declared total losses.

Police confirmed that no incendiary materials were found at the scene. No nearby properties were damaged, and no injuries were reported.

The suspects fled before officers arrived, and no arrests have been made.

The investigation is ongoing and has been transferred to Montreal police’s arson squad.
