Fire in Mile End, no injuries reported

A fire broke out overnight in the Mile End. Montreal firefighters responding to calls around 1 a.m. about the blaze on Clark, near Bernard west.
Residents of the building had to be evacuated. No injuries were reported.
The fire appears to have started on a back balcony of one of the apartments, but the cause is still unknown.

By 3:38 a.m., the fire department tweeted that the blaze was under control.
It is the second balcony fire in the Mile End in a week. On Thursday, firefighters battled extreme heat to put out another balcony fire in the same area.
