Cyclist fatally struck by truck in Montreal

A cyclist died after being hit by a truck on Sunday in Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal borough.

Officials say at around 9:20 a.m., police were called to Park Ave., north of the intersection of Bernard Street West.

“When police officers and first responders arrived on the scene, they provided assistance to a victim, a 31-year-old woman, who suffered serious injuries to her upper body,” said officer Julien Lévesque, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM).

A 31-year-old woman with critical injuries to her upper body. She was taken to hospital, where she later died.

A security perimeter has been set up to allow investigators to shed light on this collision.

Park Avenue is closed in both directions between Bernard Street West and Van Horne Ave.
